Course Outline
The Introduction to Graphic Designing course is designed to equip participants with essential skills in graphic design, focusing primarily on Adobe Illustrator. The course begins with an overview of graphic design principles, such as contrast, alignment, repetition, and proximity, alongside navigation of the software interface. Students will learn to set up documents, create artboards, and understand resolution settings. They will explore basic and advanced drawing techniques, utilizing tools like the Shape Tool, Curvature Tool, Pen Tool, and Pencil Tool. Emphasis will be placed on grouping and arranging objects, managing layers, and creatively combining shapes.
As the course progresses, participants will develop practical skills through hands-on projects, including logo design and creating patterns for scrapbooking or textiles. They will also learn to effectively use brushes, gradients, and the Blend Tool, along with productivity shortcuts to enhance workflow. The course will culminate in a presentation and review session, where students share their designs, discuss their creative processes, and receive feedback.
